so the next rebuild is underway....
i will not go into this as we have done all this before
new pistons from wossner, they have smaller overbore tolorance than the JE's from the last engine which is all good, they came in a far more finished state than the JE's too...polished and sharp edges removed
i had the crank polished to the middle of tolorance and fitted ACL race bearings all round
PIC TO BE ADDED
block painted black and rebore to 86.5mm
head cleaned and reconditioned
and a new set of GT2860-7'S to help push power over 500bhp

im looking for a responsive engine really and these turbos should provide enough power for around 530bhp (so im told) ans spool pretty quick
ill still have to upgrade the ECU, pump and injectors before that happens though
to go higher you really need to spend a lot more money, change a lot more parts..ill just be glad to get it back on the road TBH _________________ Rehab is for quitters!! |

Some good work on the last engine destruction
Rebuild is looking good though - should be good fun with the extra power _________________ Will be coming back to the Vaux side soon... I hope! |

you know i dont think i am going to fit this back into the skyline now....i kinda went out and bought a big mercs
seems a pity not to use this engine though.....maybe this will turn into a totally different project alltogether
options seem to be
1. fit engine, map engine and sell
2. sell everything as it is now
3. sell chassis and keep engine for small car big engine project
4. turn skyline into stripped track slag, as light as possible _________________ Rehab is for quitters!! |
