Yeah the extra castor and toe out couple with more negative camber has really sorted out the handling, especially with the new rack as well.
Brakes are definately locking up under braking (I hadnt actually braked hard enough at the time you first drove it to notice it doing it, but I have done so now and its very noticeable under hard braking)

Will have a look to see if its got an adjust on the rear beam I can mess about with or something, if not i'll have to get a bias adjuster on it.

have you still got the compensator spring on the beam mate? We removed ours and cable tied it a little do we gad sonexreae brakes it it got rid of the rear locking up

Thumbs Up

you will have to take me out for a drive in this, or perhaps we could go for a drive in eachothers one open pit day as i never got to experiance the XE on boddies..lol

by the way, i still have a SBD backing plate (no sausage filter) for a set of boddies that i am not using if it was any use to you???

good work mate Thumbs Up

It will seem very slow compared to your car mate, but you are welcome to have a drive sometime if you want.

Thumbs Up

Not looked yet mate, as per my post you replied to as been busy with the engine instead, so didnt think to look when I was with the car, anyway it wont need brakes at all if its not rebuilt in time so thats been priority, but yes hopefully will just be a case of disconnecting it and that making enough difference for now Im hoping.

Gary is coming round in a bit and we're going to strip the head and replace the stem seals, then build the bottom end back up and get the head back on, got a few other things to do today as well so cant spend all day on the corsa, but hopefully it will be running again by tonight and I can quickly run the secondhand rings on the new 3rd cylinder piston in tonight.

Then going to do a bit more thorough rebuild with new rings and steel rods and hotter cams and a worked head in a few months when its less urgent the car is fixed (its TVL next weekend and im away working in london for the week so very little time left before then as im quite busy this weekend too, so only really got some of today for the corsa and thats about it)

Chip how have you managed to dial in more caster and camber using the standard suspension tie bars, ball joints etc?

he's ground back the shoulder on the tiebar bby about 15mm, allowing the nut to go on more, pulling the arm forward a bit,

He's also ovaled the top mounts by about 3mm pulling it back a bit,

And hes been out and taken another 2 pistons from my stores! I've only got 13 forged pistons left now!

Done a hundred miles or so now since the rebuild after ysterdays discovery with the piston.
Found tha number 4 had nipped the rings too so replaced that one as well.

All seems well so far smile

Lucky it happened when me and gp were both off work!

Good results that really.

Usual xe on Jenveys makes 180hp and obviously costs a shit load more than that would of cost.

Tbh I dont think the bodies are as much a restriction as the exhaust manifold is so it doesn't matter which ones you run.

Might touch 180 with four whole pistons I guess, lol

Had its first trackday at combe this weekend, definately a few issues to sort out, but fundamentally worked ok, brakes havent got the right feel to them, and need to sort out some better front shocks, other than that quite happy with it.
Engine performed well but was smokey on the overrun, think thats just general wear and tear rather than any sort of problem.

Random picture of it mid spin after I had a problem with the front strut, not often you see a car with a roofrack on opposite lock, lol
