Started fitting up the turbo last night and stumbled across a bit of a space issue... There is non lol
and the fact that the turbo is the wrong way round makes getting the intercooler pipework right look a right pain in the ass, anyone got any info on how others have done evo turbo on a corsa b
I am going to need to start chopping bits but don't want to damagecthe car sructually so all suggestions welcome _________________

Am I ok to chop the cross member that you can see as it's fouling on the black pipe you can see? Will I be able to do this without needing to turn the turbo round or without turning the top hat round and doing it backwards
cheers _________________

Which manifold are you using Rich ?
I remember the pics that Dewis posted and that turbo sat really close to the block so I assumed clearance wouldn't be too much of a issue. _________________ ATMO engines FTW |

Do you mean this black pipe:
If so, just get a pipe with an elbox in it, dont start cutting the cross member around just to avoid a pipe that can easily be changed. _________________ Under 400bhp makes baby jesus cry.

Yes I mean that black pipe, I guess o could wait for Adam to come back and see if he can make me one with an elbow on it. Lol
also the actuator won't fit on either, could also do with bastardising that and refitting at a different angle
it's going to be a fucking tight fit all round though, think I will have to switch to push fans fitted the other side too as it comes out quite a hit further than the origional turnover so to get the rad on and the intercooler all behind the bumper is going to be tight lol
we were going to just chop that black pipe but I guess I would then end up with the boost pipe popping off all the time as I would have removed the lipped edge _________________

rotate the compressor housing around so that the outlet points down and back then cut down the black pipe to leave a stub and get the end rolled to retain a boost hose.
you can then run a boost pipe to the drivers side of the intercooler along the rear of the crossmember.
Otherwise there might be mileage in doing it all back to front and feed the passenger side, and go from drivers side to the tophat via the drivers turret if you can find space. |

i am using a japspeed ebay jobbie mate
do you want me to post a link? it does sit really close to the block, i had to get a different dipstick for the turbo to actually fit on, but the manifold comes out and back on its self and ends up being quite big. _________________

The two "snails" on the turbo, can be loosened off and rotated on the central core.
Do NOT rotate the central core relative to th exhaust housing, it needs to be orientated correctly for the oil drains, but if you loosen off the inlet snail you should just be able to rotate it (not done it on that specific turbo myself but you can on every turbo ive ever owned so I should think you can!)
you'll need to modify the actuator bracket, but thats no big deal anyway. _________________ Under 400bhp makes baby jesus cry.

| what management you running? the_darkhorse is saying that it wont fuel correctly using motronic because of the twin scroll or something. Looking at this thread and others it might be easier just to shell out the extra for a garrett gt28rs lol |

Stupink ran his on phase 3.5 IIRC, might have been phase 4.
It melted.
Keep the boost down if that is the route you are going down. _________________ Under 400bhp makes baby jesus cry.
