Define putting on a good show mate?
Being realistic, look at someone like the RC imprezza, its massively entertaining to watch on the handling circuit, it leaves the line like a cut cat on the quarter, and it pulls best part of 200mph

Is your car really as entertaining to the public as that?

Im not having a go at your car, I like it and I think you are a great competitor but I can see why when given the choice the average japanese performance reader or TOTB attender might find the RC imprezza more interesting than your car.

I dont think people care how much it costs, they just like seeing mega well handling 200mph cars that can do a 9 second quarter.

I think people would still like watching the RC car even if it was a cheap home built car.

But if it was a cheap home build it would not be a 200mph, 9 sec 1/4 and awesome handerling car Thumbs Up

Indeed it wouldnt, and therefore wouldnt be something so awesome to watch.

Some people go to these events to be inspired as to what they can do next with their car on a budget (ie the VS'er type of mindset) and they will be interested in things like speckys car or stevies granada etc.
But most people going are going just cause they want to see the mindblowing top end of the modified world, and to them the RC car or the Norris Evo is more interesting than anything else.

because we are into doing it ourselfs without thinking we want to small frys to do well.

for instance if i was part of a motorclub and into doing rally driving then i expect i would love to watch the local boys gong out in there 106's

but because im not i have no intension of watching a 106 go around a rally cct

tell me the wrc is on dave and ill be on it like a flash.

and thats the difference most ppl going to these events already have a 400bhp scooby evo xyz, so watching a 12 second nova really does not interest them when they already have a 12 second evo lol

Event has been Jap dominated for quite some time really - and for 95% of the Scooby's / Evo's / Skyline's / Supra's they have had some serious money spent - its those cars that most punters like to see - not some little Vauxhalls that cost the same as a bottom end build for them lot LOL
Shame really as the Vaux boys and some other FWD competitors (Andy Nicholls, Errol etc) are faster than a lot of the class B/C cars.

For all the organisers keep saying 'we care about the Class A cars' its hardly showing through!

how does it feel like they dont care ???

the enterence fee is the same, your allowed the same amount of attempts up the strip, topspeed and on the handling cct as the other classes

they let the fwd boys have a final as they do the 4x4 and rwd

i dont see them being unfair anywhere really its not there fault we chose shopping wheel drive to go drag racing in lol

Yeah I know what you mean Rob but it still feels like they are more willing to support all the big expensive cars than the poxy Vauxhalls and Honda's!

Look at CPR and the 8 cars they were allowed to enter the week before the event last year (Kerry Katona's (now ew) husband in the Skyline etc) - if we had rang up asking to add a car they would have told us to fuck right off I reckon...

Agreed with Rob, I think the organisers treat the FWD class pretty well, you only need to look at time attack etc to see how easy it would be to just ignore the class more or less totally!

Al, the CPL cars werent added that late in the day, I knew about them more than a week before, as did other managers.

Not what Trev told me when I rang him a few weeks back!

I know they had some cars on the list, but not the 14 or 16 that turned up and competed surely?

It makes no different anyway! Event is going to be totally different this year anyway as it is over 2 days so we'll just have to see what happens!

I know that the insurance has a cutoff point, so I guess if they put anyone forward after that point they would have had to pay additional costs.

As you say though, different event now anyway and I need to clarify some things with Trev/Dave in the near future like if its possible for someone to only be there on the sunday and yet still compete in the event (for if anyone wants to do TVL live on saturday and then TOTB on sunday etc)
