We were hoping somebody would have had some pics Peely but no togs there unfortunately!

Can easily take you round to the sidelines though for pics, happily!

Let me know when you're there next and I'll pop down.

Getting pics like that are fairly easy when you're the right side of the barrier smile

Thought he only charged about a tenner to burn a disk and 2.50 a photo?

So 30 quid would get you about 9 photos by my reckoning, I cant really see thats loads of money?

Especially when some of them are that good Big Grin

Aye its a tenner + £3 per picture... not expensive when you are having 6 or 7 pics... but when you want 10-20 the price gets kinda scary. I had chosen loads but had to scale down my selection quite a lot LOL

Its the emailing cost that will make you choke... £10 PER PICTURE! Silly money Nod

Is that price for unedited straight from the camera shots?

I'd love to get to professional status but know I'm nowhere near that. However looking at the above pics it seems anyone can call themselves a prorfessional.

TBH mate, I think we are just spoilt by getting free pictures from the likes of peely and olly, 10 quid for a good quality picture is perfectly reasonable really.

I bought one myself Big Grin

Fook that I'm gonna start charging lol.

Seriously though, unless mine were amazing I'd be embarrassed to charge for them.

I'm my own biggest critic mate. Sure some of my pics turn out better than expected but I'm not at a stage where I'd feel comfortable charging for them.

I'd just like to get more practice from the better vantage points. Just difficult to get a media pass Sad

You are missing the point a little I think mate.

He invests money to pay to be allowed to take the pictures at the side of the track from somewhere that no one else can.

No one else can offer me a picture that good of my nova, as no one else had access to take one (well other than the mag photographers and their pics are exclusive to the mag)

So its not just the actual quality of the picture itself, its the fact its taken from an angle no one else can.

If you pay a load of money to get exclusive rights to take pictures, you will be able to sell relatively average shots too, as although some of them are average photographically, they are capturing a moment people want to see!

I understand he pays out to get that spot but he must make enough back to make it worth it. In my eyes the initial outlay is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things as he's earning a living. It's just like any other franchise I guess.

I'm just saying personally I'd not charge for a photo unless I had the material to justify the fee.

Sized down to 1800 x 1200 iirc... but thats about it.

When Ian does 'proper' shoots his pics are awesome, with the average pod pics though they're rarely amazing... but as Chip says they capture what most people want and people are more than happy to pay for them.
Pics I have bought in the past are shite quality tbh but still nice to have...
Christ they have their own portakabin now lol...

Peely you could easily come down track side 'behind' the wall though - or even up on the VIP platform....

Extra pic Ian has sent me smile

Indeed, Peely, he has no time for proper composition with these shots, he has no choice on where the sunlight is, he cant in anyway arrange the shoot, its just a point and click affair, its just a production line.

Much like buying a burger at the show, they have to pay to be there, so you end up paying more money for the standard of food than you would in the outside world, he has extra overheads he has to recover the same as they do.
