|
A few pics of my weekend's mincing with the lads... Sleeping in a van, up at 6am on a freezing cold Sunday to lie in mud in mid-Wales, better than fucking about with Meguiars eh?
The beast in question, driven superbly into a ditch and almost a rolled 205, a bridge and a river by Phil Kendall... Haynzee, you may recognise this car.
As you may be able to divine, conditions were inclement, i looked like mr hankee the christmas poo by the end - it's the first time i've been happy to fall in an icy river, cheers Alwyn.
The workplace:
Hard at work...
Early morning 10dB removal process for scrutineering... "Don't go packing wire wool in it lads..."
Ducktape:
We know the rear brace does nothing but it looks nice and you can tape things to it.
The only action shot I got of the car unfortunately:
Navi Alwyn enjoying a tasty butty - i live with this guy, he's special.
Ooops:
Lot of 205s smashed to pieces, not a good day to be French, but is any?
Random shot, not bad with a 2mp phone lol
Good weekend all in all, apart from the week off work with lungdeath that has ensued.
Weren't fast due to mechanical problems (misfire and cutouts), the Corsa wouldn't accelerate in 3rd if shown a hill, but it finished and Phil didn't hit anything too hard. Not bad for 3rd appearance and 1st on mud. Next year will be faster and have a bigger VS sticker, happy days. |

gary, the corsa was a road car a la haynzee, the lazy cunts (i.e. us) have just not changed the lights lol. the smoked fronts may look nice but by fuck they're bollocks when you're charging along a muddy track at 90mph in the pitch.
really was a great weekend, first time i've been on the other side of the fence as it were in proper motorsport. you really get the buzz when it slithers in coated in mud and the driver's shouting "6 minutes!" and you're trying to get a wheel off the check the suspension because it's just come out of a ditch but your fingers are cold and numb pmsl. i'm getting my MSA licence soon, going to start building another one for me |

we had a look at it earlier, possibly too good for me biffing and the cage is useless to us, forged docs or no pmsl. that said, can get nova weld ins for 300 notes so no biggie. you wanna navi? |

Id love to navi/spanner but sadly I fear the logistics of it wouldnt work.

if you can get your arse in without making a twat of yourself then it's not a proper cage. does look good otherwise though, trying to balance 200sx with starting a rally car, i'm going to be a poor man. 200 is in for paint, cage, seamweld next week still haven't chosen colour though...
i have a chance of an astra2 16v shell, caged, logbooked etc, needs engine and seats but otherwise ready to rock. might be cheapest option. |

exactly, far too nice for me to land in a ditch lol.
i'm still not decided whether i want to play track car/drift or rally.... the black stuff appeals to me more but the competition of rallying and i guess the 'kudos' of doing it is good too. at the moment i'm aiming at both and that's probably unrealistic. |
