got it stitch welded in for now, just needs to be completed and seem sealed before painted!

more updates soon. beer

ok a bit more of an update,
we cleaned out the rear arches out and sprayed some stone chip around to keep it protected, no welding needed which i was happy about!

then it was time to give the speedlines a lick of paint (black to match the future body colour)

then we tackled the 3.2 lump;
first thing we did was strip it down to the bottom end and check the bores and piston movement (all was fine there)
we also removed the paper filter housing to return it to the old style filter fitment and also removed the oil cooler as we are going to fit a front mount aftermarket item.

we then fitted a set of modded 2.5 v6 heads (smaller chamber for higher compression) fitted the 3.2 exhaust valves (sodium filled), 3.2 cams G/J, matched up the inlet ports to a 3.0 inlet divider

then did a pikie gas flow to removed the large lump the restricts the v6 engines on the exhaust sides (alot of meat come out of here)

then started putting it all together
the f18 box needed modding to fit the saab style gearbox face on the 3.2 block!

will keep you posted!

right we have had a change of mind, we were going to use nitrous with the engine but we decided on something else..................... PMSL

we got hold of a vectra vxr engine (z28net) so decided to use the turbo and remote pipes for the 3.2, so this is where the turbo will be sitting but the intercooler will be lower down.
we going to run it at 5psi with around 10.3:1 compression but i think we'll get away with around 8 without retarding the timing, we'll see how it goes Thumbs Up

Be nice to see a genuinely quick vauxhall with something other than a 4 banger for once!

yeah thats what i thought, we've built xe's and let's, the v6's just started out as something different but now i see the potential they have so we thought we would give it a shot.

well we've been cracking on today.......

removed the TC motor, throttle flap, welded the holes up then flowed it open by 2 mm

Then sorted out the lower part of the inlet manifold to match the 3.0 lower divider

fitted calibra turbo injectors

We then started rubbing down and painting, first was the engine cover then the inlet manifold and lower arms

and then fitting

i'll have more of an update at the end of the weekend, the turbo feeds from each exhaust manifold should be complete, all the inlet about finished, fuel pump and lines should be done, really all that should be left in the engine bay will be intercooler piping, wiring and a few odd bits then exhaust.

David.

well we've been cracking on over the weekend but i didn't get round to taking pics apart from the down pipe after welding and wrapping.

We have got all the wiring finished off, turbo feed pipes welded up and wrapped along with the down pipe, fuel lines are finished off with a black top race fuel reg and gauge, high pressure in-tank pump to replace the nova SPI pump, we have fitted a set of C20LET yellow injectors which should see us ok, we are just about finished the exhaust system, we went for 3" all the way through (including silencers) until it reaches the rear where it splits to 2 x 2 & 1/8" back boxes coming out the middle.
all suspension, bearing type tie bars and poly bushing complete.

The only real things we need is;
1 meter of 3" pipe to finish the system
turbo oil feed pipes,
fittings for external oil cooler (binned the water type)
fit the innovate wideband
intercooler piping to turn up so we can fit it all up
fit shafts and brakes then refit the front end!

I'll try sorting some pics out later in the week

David.
