your only guessing the power it may of had you dont really know so its not really fair or rite to say its was the most powerful let in uk.

plus i really wouldnt say its had the most stick at that power........

Dont know an exact figure, and I havent made any claims about being the most anything.

Rob has just said he isnt aware of any LET engine likely to be making more power than a GT35R one at 2.1 bar, thats all.

People seem to be reading FAR too much into that statement though.

I dont personally know of any LET engine over here that is likely to be making more power than that, in fact currently the most powerful LET im personally aware of over here being publically proven is yours.
I would imagine mine was making more power than yours, as its a very similar spec but was running more boost, but we'll never actually know of course.
Anyway, im sure soon you will wind the boost up to more than I ran, so again its a pointless argument, Rob's implication I would imagine, was just that this may become common on the water jacket when others start getting to this level. It wasnt meant as a willy waving contest about who has the most this or that, merely an obersvation that the failure had happened while essentially pushing the power boundaries.

Do u class 2.1 as the most a LET will take? What if theres 1 with higher compression running more boost?

No because ive personally run more in short bursts, ive seen nearly 3 bar in fact.

I believe that these blocks are a total lottery and you cant possibly apply a hard and fast rule about what they will take.

They all have different historys during their 20 odd year life, and they werent very accurately produced in the first place.

This is also my opinion with regards to the rods and the cranks as well.
But obviously rods and cranks are more easily replaced with performance items.

Bhp carnt be just a straight guess in my eyes theres alot of people that say mine made 400 and i have the garaph to prove it but on the way home i turned the boost up so it now blah.
In my eyes if a let has be rollered ten years ago at 200bhp its still 200bhp even after spending 15k on it untill its proven.
So i think speckys is the biggest break let in the uk because its been proven.
If that makes any sence.

I think its just a pointless argument, if I hadnt had my car on the rollers at 457bhp the other day, then by your logic it would still be 150bhp as it was an XE block, when of course it wasnt, anyone who drove it would be able to tell it was massively more than that.

Lots of people make guesses at power, some of those people make fairly accurate guesses cause they know what they are on about and have a lot of useful supporting evidence, and some people havent a clue.

I know myself in my own mind that my engine was well over 500bhp, for the simple reason that it wouldnt be much faster than it was at 457bhp if it wasnt, but im not about to start trying to quote a figure anywhere other than when pressed for my OPINION on what it was making, as that is all it is.

Lets just stop going round in circles now, its fucking pointless.

Im NOT making any official claims as to what power my engine made, all I can say for certain is that it was demonstrably a lot more than 457bhp, I cant put an exact figure on it though so there is no point discussing it beyond that, as that is the only accurate thing that can be said.

How does that confuse you Fenny?

I dont know an exact figure, but I suspect that whatever the figure was, is higher than a similar spec engine on less boost makes, surely that makes perfect sense?

I don't believe speckys head inlet or exhaust manifold flow greatly different to mine chris no

Anyway like I said it's a pointless discussion.

It's only a matter of opinion without putting them both on rollers and we'll never all have same opinion i'm sure so no point trying.

Ive not got a running let that ive spent thousands on, do i have an opinion?

Chip has fucked his engine with more than 475bhp it might be 476 it might be a 1000bhp who cares really cos at this point the 1.0ltr 12v corsa i drive to work in is still quicker.

Its like being a high school and arguing who got more drunk over the weekend, its all over and done with its in the past and lets carry on.
